WHO ARE WE?
HISTORY
In 2015, the FDA approved an internal off/on switch developed by EnteroMedics called the Maestro Rechargeable System that works with the human nervous system to suppress appetite.
The Full Sense Device, a pressurized device installed in the stomach, was approved a few years later and also controlled the amount of food consumed. With the advent of these 2 inventions, researchers began working together to find an ultimate weight maintenance system that would be safe for patients as young as 13. At the time, these were only used as alternative methods to bariatric surgery, considered to be the most effective procedure to reverse morbid obesity. In fact, one-third of American adults were categorized as overweight or obese, which was considered an epidemic. However, we are bombarded to this day with fast food and high-calorie snacks without the time to exercise or make a home-cooked meal. The researchers had to look at ways to make weight loss easier and non-strenuous for the average American. Developed from this research was MyHotBod, an innovative and revolutionary system that changed the weight loss industry. Bariatric surgery became obsolete since MyHotBod works as a maintenance system rather than a last-resort procedure for weight control. Also, there is no longer a need for dangerous weight-loss medications and supplements such as Fen-Phen or Ephedra that can make health problems worse. The great innovation of this system is that it works holistically with your nervous system to increase satiety while utilizing top-of-the-line 21st century technology. MyHotBod gives you complete control over the functionality of YOUR body and how you CHOOSE to present your physical self to the world! MyHotBod gives you confidence and the ability to live the life you've always wanted! |
HOW DOES MYHOTBOD WORK
MyHotBod is inserted into the mouth either by a medical professional or our new kiosks with a flexible silicon tube so that it can safely be installed at the stomach's entry. The MyHotBod device itself is light and flexible, with metal threads that contact nerve endings which communicates with the vagal nerve, the hunger regulator. There is no contact with the nerve itself, which also regulates the heart, hearing, and sexual function. MyHotBod is very similar to the Full Sense iteration of the system in design to measure the amount of food entering the stomach, but the "off/on" switch that was prominent in the Maestro system is automated through Bluetooth. So, your Bluetooth device can be paired with MyHotBod to report status and changes, such as timer schedule and battery life. There are small LED lights (green=on=not hungry, red=off=hungry) installed in the device as a precautionary check to make sure that the battery is working during routine maintenance cleanings (can work up to 3 years and cleaned every 6-9 months). Through an online portal or app, you can set timers to turn MyHotBod off and on. With Bluetooth, these changes will be communicated to the MyHotBod device. Additionally, you can set how much food can enter the stomach before it turns off. Your stomach can handle about 2 quarts of food at a time, but MyHotBod's base settings are currently at 10 ounces of food at 3 times a day minimum for metabolic functionality. You can increase these settings if you find that you are losing too much weight. Turning device off will allow for natural satiation if you want to indulge in cheat days or holiday dinners. |
